#24 - Dahna, originally uploaded by © Frame Maker.

We were walking from our hotel in Khajuraho, India to the group of ancient temples called the "Eastern Group." It's only about a 20 minute walk, it was a beautiful morning, and we felt like walking. Dahna approached us on his bicycle rickshaw looking for business, but we said we wanted to walk. Not one to give up easily, Dahna came along with us hoping we'd hire him to take us back to our hotel. At one point, he suggested a little shortcut that worked out just fine.

Dahna said he was 50 years old and had been a rickshaw driver for 30 years! He's never been to school. He has a wife and two children. His son goes to school and his daughter works as a cook. When we arrived at the Eastern Group, we left Dahna at the entrance. When we returned, there he was again. Unfortunately for Dahna we decided to continue our walk into the old village. So Dahna finally took off looking for other customers.
