A truly bizarre sight – hundreds of men and women, as far as the eye can see, in small concrete cubicles beating the stuffing out of the city’s laundry. This is the municipal dhobi ghat – any laundry handled by a hotel will most probably end up here and a unique marking system will ensure that the clothes (seemingly against the odds) find their way back to you. A most unusual tourist attraction – but fascinating and another great photo opportunity in a city which provides many memorable images.
