Bodhisattvas at Lamayuru Gompa, Leh, India, originally uploaded by © Ajit Karthik.
In this dark, isolated and utterly quiet alcove at the Lamayuru Monastery (Leh, India) is a collection of superb ancient Bodhisattva idols. Seen here are 8 Bodhisattvas (Sanskrit for "enlightened beings") and in the center is an incarnation of Lord Buddha.
To the right of these statues can be seen handwritten teachings of Buddha wrapped in cloth.
In the room at the back, the statue of Avalokitesvara Buddha can be seen. For a photo of this Buddha statue, please see: Avalokitesvara Buddha
Sitting for a few moments in this room, I realized the true meaning of Peace.
