Palace of the Winds, originally uploaded by © ejhrap.

The Hawa Mahal or Palace of the Winds was constructed in 1799 in Jaipur, India out of lime and morter and was painted pink. Five stories high, yet only one room wide, its purpose was to allow the sequestered ladies of the court to view the outside world through screened windows.
